It can help define employee's behavioral strengths for the future success in the workplace. Employers often look for specific competencies for certain roles.
How to measure behavioral competency
Measuring behavioral competency is not an easy job, but it makes an important step in the hiring process. It is the skill set which a potential employee should have in order to perform his/her work successfully.
There are three types of work –related behavior
• People-based behavior: shows respect for others, interpersonal skills, understands others’ viewpoints, accepts/provides constructive criticism
• Success-based behaviors: makes positive decisions, takes responsibility for actions, communicates with colleagues, organizes time effectively
• Managerial-based behaviors: encourages staff to achieve their best, motivates rather than drains, tries to achieve a diverse workforce
