Rules of CAN-SPAM act
Can-SPAM act basically means that e-mail marketers need to send e-mails which follow certain rules and guidelines in three main areas: unsubscribing, content, and sending behavior.
An employer can follow this rules by:
- including valid physical postal address in every email that has been sent out
- providing clear and obvious ways to opt out of every sent email you send out
- honoring the unsubscribe within 10 business days
- using clear "From," "To," and "Reply to" language that accurately reflects who the sender is
- not selling or transfering any email addresses to another list
- not making it hard to unsubscribe from emails
- not using deceptive subject lines in emails that misrepresent the contents of the message
